About JEE Main Exams

  • The exam has a maximum score of 360, and approximately 1.2 million students appear for it every year across India, to get admitted into the famed NITs.
  • Out of this, around 2 lakh students - half seats being reserved - are considered qualified for JEE Advanced.
  • Until 2017, 12th standard board exam marks were also considered for JEE Mains rankest - at least 75% marks, or in the top 20 percentile in the qualifying examination. Thus, even if your rank scored for Mains were a bit below par, if you’ve performed considerably well in your Boards, you would be able to obtain a seat in the above-mentioned colleges.
  • However, this has been removed this year as Board exam marks are not going to be considered for preparing JEE Mains rank lists. Read the list of Top 50 Private Engineering Colleges for Direct Admission & Get Direct Engineering Admission with Low JEE Main Score for 2020 Session.
