Joint Entrance Examination - Main or commonly known as JEE Main is a national level entrance exam conducted by NTA to offer admission to BE/BTech, BPlan and BArch courses at the IIITs (Indian Institute of Information Technology), NITs (National Institute of Technology) and other Centrally Funded Technical Institutions. JEE Main is the qualifying test for JEE Advanced through which candidates can get admission to 23 IITs. JEE Main 2019 will be held for 2 papers where Paper-I is for B.Tech admissions and Paper-II for B.Arch admissions. States like Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Uttarakhand and Nagaland & some other institutions use JEE Main ranks for admissions; however, admission criteria for the mentioned states will be notified by the concerned state authorities only. The new changes in JEE Main 2019 allow for candidates to appear twice for the entrance exam in a given year. The better of the two scores will be used for the purpose of ranking as per the regulations laid by the authorities. Get Direct Engineering Admission with Low JEE Main Score for 2020 Session. About JEE Main Exams
- The exam has a maximum score of 360, and approximately 1.2 million students appear for it every year across India, to get admitted into the famed NITs.
- Out of this, around 2 lakh students - half seats being reserved - are considered qualified for JEE Advanced.
- Until 2017, 12th standard board exam marks were also considered for JEE Mains rankest - at least 75% marks, or in the top 20 percentile in the qualifying examination. Thus, even if your rank scored for Mains were a bit below par, if you’ve performed considerably well in your Boards, you would be able to obtain a seat in the above-mentioned colleges.
- However, this has been removed this year as Board exam marks are not going to be considered for preparing JEE Mains rank lists. Read the list of Top 50 Private Engineering Colleges for Direct Admission & Get Direct Engineering Admission with Low JEE Main Score for 2020 Session.
